COOL thing about general greivous
general greivous was the leader of the Kaleesh a colony on a different planet. he took over worlds for the intergalatic bank. While leaving from taking over a planet darth sidious made his ship explode then saved his life and made him a cyborg to work for darth sidious.!!

Thats how he got it but Lucas made it in the first place to mock the breathing. Something like all of The Sith lord's apprentices are disabilitied in some way. Even the Sith Lord himself has a rasping voice. And Darth maul Doesn't talk at all, only Count Douku is in any way a normal breather.
